FEMME TWIST COLLECTION
The Nike One Femme Twist pack was influenced by the “sporty coquette” trend, which dresses up activewear in hyperfeminine design language. Key details include twists, bows, ruching, sheer fabrics and layering. It’s indicative of a greater trend within fashion and social media toward reclaiming girlhood. Feminine flourishes evoke innocence, coziness and respite from a chaotic world.
The trend was brought to a global stage by Nike athlete Naomi Osaka, who wore a black and white “Gothic Lolita” look at the US Open in 2024. This was a reference to Harajuku street style and a nod to Osaka’s Japanese heritage.
This Nike One pack makes “sporty coquette” accessible by incorporating subtle twist details in each piece.
“I wouldn’t automatically associate myself with being girlish when I’m on the court, but I tend to gravitate toward really beautiful and cute things. I think there’s something quite cool in making that an emphasis, especially here in New York. In New York, the tennis court is more like a stage.”
