As of April 2017, I work in color research & development at Macy's. I forecast color trends for Macy's private label fashion brands.
In 2010, I received a BA in art history from the University of Virginia. Then I moved to New York City to study fashion at Parsons School of Design, where I was awarded the AAS Dean's Scholarship. After graduation, I interned and freelanced for over four years, for brands like Alice + Olivia, dELiA*s, Victoria's Secret and American Eagle Outfitters. With each opportunity, I came to recognize that I had a distinct eye and deep love for color.
Following my curiosity, I created The Colorist in October 2015. The intention of this site is to offer immersive color inspiration for artists, designers, and color lovers. My blog is driven by the desire to make and share personal work and to record my process along the way.
Color is my chosen language, a medium and material I want to keep exploring. I hope it inspires you.
