A few summers ago, when I worked with the color team at American Eagle, I got the chance to take a tour of the Pantone headquarters in Carlstadt, New Jersey. We had to take a ferry from Manhattan, which really added to the glamour of it all. I geeked out quite a bit. For designers, the experience is akin to getting an invitation from Willy Wonka.
